A point gained… and two points lost for the Whitecaps and FC Dallas
A combination of end of season nerves and international absences contributed to a rather sedate affair as the Vancouver Whitecaps were held to a goalless draw by FC Dallas. The point ensured the Whitecaps qualified for its second consecutive playoff campaign under Carl Robinson.
With both sides set to face off again in their next fixture midweek, another such disappointing result could see rivalries renewed once again in the playoffs. This may explain the cagey nature of both teams tactical approaches in the match.
