Mamadou Sakho has defied speculation that he would spend a stint out on loan, indicating that he will remain at Liverpool for the upcoming season.
L’Equipe claim that the Frenchman has denied the urges of Jurgen Klopp to spend some time away. Instead, he will attempt to persuade him to accomodate his return to first team action with The Reds.
Recent reports have seen the centre back linked to a loan deal with Stoke City, Besiktas and West Brom, but it is said that the player has rejected these offers with intentions of staying put at Anfield.

Sakho was a key figure in Liverpool’s outstanding Europa League campaign during the 2015-16 season. However a drug claim and subsequent ban from UEFA, which has since been proved false, ruled him out of the final as well as a potential home Euro campaign with the French national team.
Pre-season saw the 26 year old deal with injury and discipline issues. Repeated annoyances for Klopp amounted, and he was sent home early from the Liverpool tour of the United States.
