West Ham United bode farewell to Boleyn Ground last night and did so in the best possible way upon a picturesque backdrop.
The Hammers are set to depart the 112-year-old stadium and move to a new home at the Olympic Stadium, but they made sure Upton Park’s swan song was marked by a memorable 3-2 win over Manchester United.
Slaven Bilic’s team marked a dominant opening with a 10th-minute Diafra Sakho strike, but visiting United eventually found their groove in the second half. They took the lead in the 72nd minute courtesy of a classy Anthony Martial double.

However, the Irons were not to be denied and hit back four minutes later through Michail Antonio. Winston Reid then sent the home fans into delirium, putting West Ham back in front with what proved to be the final ever goal at the storied East London ground.
