After a heart-stopping first half, the Merseyside Derby between Everton and Liverpool fizzled out in the second-half and it’s fair to say Twitter got a fair work out with little happening on the pitch.

Simon Mingolet produced a dazzling first half performance to keep Everton at bay, producing two excellent saves before Danny Ings put Liverpool ahead with his a debut Merseyside Derby goal.

Romelu Lukaku almost immediately equalised for the Toffees after a calamitous clearence from Emre Can, who inadvertently provided the perfect the assist for the Belgian.
