Late drama at Suncorp Stadium saw Brisbane Roar progress in the A-League finals with a 2-1 win over the Melbourne Victory.
The contest was fought on a knife-edge from the outset, with both teams battling hard in the midfield but a high number of fouls cutting out the majority of attacking play at either end.
Chances were at a premium and the intensity increased to a crescendo in the late stages, as Jason Geria received a second yellow card and his marching orders in the 83rd minute. It was only moments later that the Victory would take the advantage when Besart Berisha struck home a corner from close-range.
However, from the resulting kick-off the Roar would push down the wing and a delivery into the box would end with Matt McKay finishing into the net to restore parity.
Extra-time loomed, yet Thomas Broich headed home a corner in the 93rd minute in front of an elated Suncorp crowd to book Brisbane a date with the Wanderers next weekend.
