Milos Ninkovic’s last minute strike saw Graham Arnold’s team over the line one more against their fierce rivals in the Sydney Derby earlier tonight.
Despite the low scoreline it was an encounter with all of the fire that one would have expected, as over 40,000 supporters packed the Allianz Stadium.
Western Sydney fans understandably had a lot of frustration to vent after the match, Jaushua Sotirio’s fine header on the stroke of halftime disallowed by the assistant referee, while replays showed that the Wanderers’ attacker was only halfway past the last Sky Blue marker at the most.
Although both teams were pressing, the final ball was lacking and few clear chances materialised. It was not until the 88th minute when Ninkovic made the breakthrough, exhibiting supreme control of the ball before slotting it into the bottom corner.
Here is what Twitter had to say following the result:

Close call. Understand ref calling it either way but that linesman looks about 12. Hope he’s staying away from Seb Ryall #SYDvWSW — Tom (@SuperTom89) October 24, 2015
A good old fashioned Ben Williams hackfest. 23 fouls, 2 Yellow cards. Look forward to the inevitable incorrect red in the 2nd half #SYDvWSW

Surely that’s onside or at least close enough for the benefit to be given to the striker? #SydneyDerby#SYDvWSWpic.twitter.com/0rUxuexhbJ — Matthew Storey (@MattJStorey) October 24, 2015
