Liverpool dished out a footballing lesson to Manchester City, with a resounding 4-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.
The front three of Phillipe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana single-handedly destroyed the City defence in a scintillating opening half that put the visitors three goals up inside 33 minutes.
Sergio Aguero pulled back a fine goal for the home side moments before half-time, but it was a mere consolation as Martin Skrtel put the icing cake with a thunderous effort in the 81st minute.
It was City’s heaviest defeat ever at the Etihad Stadium since the Abi Dhabi takeover and a victory that reaffirms the significant improvements Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made since he took over from axed boss Brendan Rodgers.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to another stunning away performance from Liverpool:
Liverpool have now scored as many goals in their last two away Premier League games (seven) as they managed in their 11 before that.
