PSG put in a convincing display to claim a 2-1 advantage against Chelsea in their first leg round of 16 Champions League clash.
On 39 minutes, John Obi Mikel conceded a needless foul and Zlatan Ibrahimovic made Chelsea pay with a free-kick that deflected off Mikel and deceived a diving Thibaut Courtois.
Moments before half-time the ball fell to the villain, Mikel, who redeemed himself by lashing the ball into the net from close range, following a clever flick from Diego Costa.

After the break PSG dominated proceedings but failed to convert their possession into a second goal until substitute Edison Cavani scored almost immediately after coming on.
The Uruguayan finished with aplomb through Courtois’ legs from a tight angle, after a superb ball from Angel Di Maria.

A draw would have just made us sit back and take the wave of attacks. Us trailing will at least make us go for it. #CFC

I’m happy with the result, if I’m honest I expected PSG to score 3 or 4 goals. In the second leg Terry will be fit so lets win this! #CFC

We got an away goal (from Obi Mikel!) in Paris. Not much more we can ask for. Set for a classic 1-0 aggregate win at Stamford Bridge. #CFC

Could have been a lot worse…. Willian and Pedro ?? Hazard must have already signed for PSG. Would have taken that before the game…. #CFC

Baba, Azpilicuta and Pedro were the standouts for me. Specially, Pedro – who’s determination and work rate was excellent. #CFC
