Man City defeat ‘not’ Bournemouth

Last night Manchester City managed a resounding victory over AFC Bournemouth, in what was one of the most one sided games of the season. Man City had numerous other opportunities to score, while Bournemouth only found respite in a long range Glenn Murray shot.

This disparity in performance only really comes down to one thing – they weren’t playing the Bournemouth that won promotion into the world’s most competitive league.

They played a Bournemouth side that to date is missing their Captain in Tommy Elphic, their goal getter in Callum Wilson and the two most expensive signings in the club’s history, in Tyrone Mings and Max Gradel. All of which will be out for an extended duration of time.

The fact that Howe chose to start Eunan O’Kane in the number 10 role is evidence enough of a side in shambles. The Cherries Manager has already come out and announced his eagerness for the January transfer window, with Howe saying in a press conference:

“I have no problem saying we are trying to prepare and plan for the January transfer window… we’ll wait and see what happens.”
