Raheem Sterling scored a spectacular first-half hat trick to help his side to a 5-1 demolishing of AFC Bournemouth.

The Englishmen’s first goal was assisted by Ivorian Wilfried Bony- who also scored a brace in what was his first full 90 minute run of the season.

After two early goals from both Sterling and Bony. Cherries striker Glenn Murray was on target for his side to bring Bournemouth within a goal’s reach of City. However, it would turn out to be only a temporary respite for Eddie Howe’s side, with Sterling scoring his second 7 minutes later.

A threatening run from Jesus Navas late in the first half had to be cleared off the goal line by Bournemouth, only to be followed up by Sterling- who managed to feign himself into enough room for a shot. The goal all but sealed the game for the host side.

The win means that The Noisy Neighbours remain top of the Premier League table while Bournemouth have sunk to a lowly 17th place- 4 points clear of the relegation zone.
