Liverpool came from a goal down to worsen Chelsea and Jose Mourinho’s woes with a 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, launching the Jurgen Klopp era after his first victory midweek.
The champions got-off to the perfect start as Ramires headed home from close range inside five minutes, but the Reds managed to equalise on the stroke of halftime through some magic from Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian maestro then lifted the stakes in the second stanza with another quality moment to give the Merseysiders the lead, before Christian Benteke secured all three points with another goal from the bench.
The defeat sees the Blues only four points clear of the relegation zone and 14 points adrift off the league leaders Manchester City, whereas Liverpool leapfrogged the likes of Southampton into seventh on 17 points, just four behind arch rivals Manchester United, who round out the Champions League spots in fourth.
