Crystal Palace and Manchester United played out a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park on Saturday night.

Both sides will feel that they had chances to break the deadlock, however, chances were wasted in front of goal at both ends. The start saw David De Gea keep United in the match when, when the Eagles took the early momentum and created multiple opportunities to open the scoring.

The Red Devils now have not scored a goal in three matches, which will be of some concern to Louis van Gaal as his at times-lethal attackers have hit another lull.

Crystal Palace

Wayne Hennessey – 7: Dealt with a the dangerous opportunities well, including defusing a good through ball from Anthony Martial for Wayne Rooney.

Martin Kelly – 5: Had a difficult first-half up against Martial on the right, however, swapped sides with Joel Ward at halftime and looked more composed on the left.

Scott Dann – 6: Came close with a couple of headers from set pieces and also was solid in dealing with Rooney.

Damien Delaney – 6: Made some key interceptions and clearances in his first start since September.

Joel Ward – 7: Swapped sides with Kelly to try and contain Martial. Also combined well with Bolasie going forward.

Yohan Cabaye – 6: Was key in breaking up some of the counter-attacks that United tried to launch. Should have done better with a cross from Ward which found him in the box.

James McArthur – 6: Much like Cabaye, worked hard to prevent any quick counters being launched. Played a good passes in for Zaha only for the chance to be missed.

Wilfried Zaha – 7: Caused some serious issues for Darmian and also worked hard to get back and assist his defenders.

Jason Puncheon – 6: Was consistent in the midfield and again was another player who tracked back to help out in defence.

Yannick Bolasie – 8: Palace’s best player by far. Caused some serious issues in the second-half in particular for Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind, delivering threatening crosses in for his teammates to get on the end of.

Dwight Gayle – 6: Put some real pressure on the defence of United when they were trying to clear the ball. Had some chances going forward but most of those went straight into the hands of De Gea.

Substitutes

Mile Jedinak – 5: Came on for Cabaye in the 80th minute and only real impact was to prevent Rooney getting down the wing.
