Individual errors continue to plague the Hammers.
There is little that can be done tactically to protect against errors like the one committed by Noble, an egregious square pass that was picked off with relish by Robbie Brady. Noble, anecdotally so neat, is in reality often in danger of slipping into these poorly judged moments, whether unwise passes such as these, or equally ill-advised tackles. He is by far the most capable captain West Ham have, and the armband is rightfully his and his alone. But he must try, playing as he does in a position that must be always assured, to reduce these mistakes. He hampered his team badly here, and early too, and handicaps like that don’t need to be assigned by the club captain, of all people.
