West Ham, as suspected, started with virtually the same XI that began against Manchester City, changing only Pedro Obiang for Cheikhou Kouyate. Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini and Victor Moses started behind Diafra Sakho, with Mark Noble and Kouyate tucking in behind. Norwich, again as was anticipated, started Graham Dorrans, Alex Tettey, Jonny Howson and Wes Hoolahan all together, a tight centralised midfield unit, all poised to cause havoc behind Cameron Jerome. It appeared, at first glance, that most of the concussive action was to take place very much in the centre of the park, as it usually does.
