Watford
Heurelho Gomes – 6: No one could complain with his performance as he was not needed for anything too serious.
Allan Nyom – 6: Blocked two shots in a row and defended well.
Craig Cathcart – 7: Great job of clearing the ball from crosses and showed good defensive instincts.
Miguel Britos – 6: An average game for Britos, but definitely not a bad one.
Nathan Ake – 6: Turned the ball over a bit too much, kept up with Shaqiri well though. His defending was handy for Watford.
Abdi – 7: Great forward pressure to get the ball off Marc Wilson and a magnificent strike to score the sealing goal.
Ben Watson – 7: Solid play on both ends of the pitch, cut out numerous attacking passes from the opposition
Etienne Capoue – 7: Worked well with Ben Watson to keep Stoke’s attackers out and showed some great offensive contributions as well.
Ikeche Anya – 6: Good passing and crossing from the left side of the pitch.
Odion Ighalo – 7: Came so close to scoring when his shot hit the crossbar. However, he troubled Jack Butland all day until his substitution.
Troy Deeney – 8: Had some good forward pressure, got physical and did the ‘dirty work’ for Watford. Had a great work rate, scored a magnificent goal and nearly scored another one as he too hit the crossbar.
25 – Troy Deeney has scored his first Premier League goal with what was his 25th shot (inc. blocked) in the competition. Relief.

Substitutes
Juan Carlos Peredes – 6: 66th minute change. Came on and was a good attacking asset even in the late stages of the match.
Valon Behrami – 6: 78th minute substitution. Was ferocious on defence.
Adlene Guedioura – N/A: A very late replacement to see out the result.
