Stoke City

Jack Butland – 5: Not the best game for the Englishman, but made a couple of good saves.

Glen Johnson – 5: An average defensive effort and his attacking play was poor.

Philipp Wollscheid – 6: Great passing play in the defensive-third but was ordinary with tackles and interceptions.

Geoff Cameron – N/A: Substituted in the eighth minute due to an injury and did not get much of a go out on the pitch.

Erik Pieters – 6: Some good tackles and offered up a little bit of attacking movement.

Charlie Adam – 6: Dictated the play for Stoke with good passing and even created chances with long range shots. Most of them were nowhere near the goal though.

Glenn Whelan – 4: Not what we have come to expect from the Irishman. Was hardly seen on the pitch.

Xherdan Shaqiri – 6: Fantastic crossing but his dribbling let him down, was just trying too hard to make something happen individually.

Bojan – 6: Again some good crossing but could not get many chances of his own.

Marko Arnautovic – 6: Good dribbling throughout the game but misplaced a couple of headers that were crossed perfectly.

Joselu – 4: Hardly got any chances at goal and did not perform up to expectations.

Substitutes

Marc Wilson – 5: Came on in the eighth minute. Had a good work rate but gave away possession which led to a goal. Defending was also not up to scratch.

Jonathan Walters – 5: A 60th minute substitution. He got a chance on goal but rushed the finish.

Peter Crouch – 5: Also a 60th minute change. Did not have that much impact though.
