A tight contest ended 2-0 at the Britannia Stadium where the Hornets earned their second Premier League win away from Vicarage Road overnight.
The match started in Stoke City’s favour, having most of the possession and shots. Watford began to gain momentum then had a few chances late in the first-half, including two rebound shots from Ighalo and Deeney which both hit the crossbar. The scoring was opened in style In the 43rd minute when Deeney took a shot from outside the box and curled it into the goal.
A second for the vistors was a powerful long-range finish from Abdi, coming initally because of a mistake from Marc Wilson when he failed to clear the ball and buckled under pressure.
This loss means Mark Hughes should be getting cautious about his job security, as the Potters have dropped down to 14th place and may lose again in some tough fixtures coming up. Meanwhile, Watford have now overtaken Stoke and climbed to 13th place on the ladder.
