Newcastle United

Rob Elliot – 8: Probably Newcastle’s star player in the first half, Tottenham could have been three goals up by half time, but his outstanding saves kept Spurs at bay.

Daryl Janmaat – 6: The Newcastle back four fell asleep at some points, leaving players with space.

Chancel Mbemba – 5.5: Part of the back four that occasionally fell apart, but Tottenham failed to capitalise.

Fabricio Coloccini – 6: Poorly marked Dier, which allowed him to head in the corner to score Tottenham’s first goal. However, did well to head the ball back across goal to allow Aleksander Mitrovic to bundle the ball in.

Paul Dummett – 5.5: Worked quietly at the back, pushed forward at points to provide crosses.

Moussa Sissoko – 6: produced the outstanding run and ball that almost saw Papiss Cisse score.

Vurnon Anita – 6: Was substituted in the 91st minute to give Gouffran a run around.

Jack Colback – 6: Gained his sixth yellow card in the last eight games.

Georginio Wijnaldum – 5: Quiet, but played the whole game.

Siem de Jong – 5: Couldn’t really produce much in the role behind Cisse, and was subbed after 63 minutes.

Papiss Cisse – 6: Came just millimetres from bringing Newcastle level with the home side. However, was subbed after 72 minutes as relatively ineffective.
