Melbourne City have struck a deal with Nissan to become the club’s official automotive partner.

The FFA changed the regulations for the upcoming 2016/17 season, allowing A-League and W-League clubs to enter into partnerships with automotive partners.

Nissan’s logo will feature on the sleeve of the men’s home and away kit and on the away shirt of the women’s team.

There will be numerous fan engagement opportunities that Nissan will engineer at Melbourne City home games and to mark the new partnership, V8 Supercars Championship professional supercar driver, Michael Caruso, will wear Melbourne City branding during the Townsville 400 this weekend.

Melbourne City CEO Scott Munn is excited by the possibilities between both parties.

“We are delighted to announce Nissan as the first ever Club Automotive Partner in the A-League. Nissan are, like us, committed to sustainability and innovation and that translates in a very real way to benefits for Melbourne City fans.” he said.

“This partnership will see a range of promotions and activities that bring fans closer to Melbourne City and to Nissan. By support for both the men’s and the women’s team, Nissan is demonstrating a real and deep commitment to, and passion for, football.”
