Ahead of the A-League Semi-Finals, Brisbane Roar winger Tommy Oar has revealed that he still harbours hopes of a return to Europe if the opportunity arises again.

Speaking to the Daily Football Show, Oar was adamant that he had made the right decision to return home to Brisbane despite only just joining English-Championship side Ipswich Town, a move he’d long been fighting for.

“I definitely have big ambitions and would love to go back overseas. It’s always difficult to predict where your football career is going to take you,” he said.

“I don’t really want to speculate but if the opportunity did arise to go back to a country like England it’d be something I’d love to do.

“At this stage in my career I wasn’t really getting the opportunities at Ipswich, and with the style of play and all these other factors, I couldn’t see myself being successful there.

“In order to benefit me long-term I needed to do something about it and that was kind of a big part of the reason why I went to Brisbane. I’m really happy with the decision.”
