Leicester City continued their run of matches without a loss, Riyad Mahrez’s hat-trick  enough for Foxes to brush aside Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday night.

Leicester started strongly, creating chances right from the start. After just 20 minutes, visitors were two goals up. Mahrez first scored after a corner kick when ball hit him in the hip and went into the goal, and then later scored his second after N’Golo Kante’s pinpoint long ball. Though Mahrez was offside, the flag stayed down and the Algerian showed no mercy in front of Lukasz Fabianski.

In the second half, Leicester eased off a bit, and after realising that Jamie Vardy wasn’t in the mood to extend his goal-scoring run to 12 matches, Mahrez completed his hat-trick. Kante stormed between three Swansea players, passing to Vardy, whose simple pass to the right gave enough time and space for Mahrez to score.

Swansea players were naturally disappointed, with Bafetimbi Gomis unable to score once again. Garry Monk is in even bigger trouble now, as his team is nowhere near their expected level, while Claudio Ranieri will be happy his team climbed to top of the table once again.
