Stoke City

Jack Butland – 6: As Stoke City flourished, Butland was not needed. However, he was left helpless by some bad defending. Butland made a few good saves as usual.

Geoff Cameron – 6: Played alright as a centre back but flourished up the pitch as he could have gotten a couple of assists from the superb crosses he was putting into the area.

Glen Johnson – 6: Dribbled down the right side of the pitch a lot, but couldn’t find an opening in the Foxes’ defence.

Marc Wilson – 5: Struggled to deal with the in-form Mahrez but defended fairly well against everyone else.

Erik Pieters – 5: Let Vardy become onside which led to Stoke conceding. However, one man can’t be blamed entirely for a goal being let in. He was also out of position at crucial moments.

Glenn Whelan – 6: Played very well, especially in defence. Made some huge tackles which got Stoke on the counter attack. Would’ve earned a 7, but couldn’t orchestrate the midfield in an attacking sense.

Marco van Ginkel – 5: One to forget, but also showed some good signs. Failed to help keep possession and played some second-rate crosses into the middle. Nearly scored but Schmeichel got down low to save.

Xherdan Shaqiri – 5: Not at his best in front of goal, unable to finish any of his chances. Nevertheless, he showed great work ethic and determination on the wings.

Marco Arnautovic – 6: Played really well by keeping possession. His fantastic pass ensured Bojan wouldn’t miss. His push on Drinkwater made him just miss out on a 7.

Bojan – 7: A much needed spark was handed to Stoke in the form of Bojan. Linked up well with teammates, especially Arnautovic.

Jonathan Walters – 7: Played exactly like a classic Stoke player because he is one. Pressured Wes Morgan into a mistake, pounced on it and scored in a matter of seconds. He also showed great tenacity for the whole 90 minutes.

Substitutions

Stephen Ireland – 5: Did not provide the performance that Stoke fans were used to. The ‘super sub’ was nothing of the sort in this match.

Peter Crouch – 5: When he gets the right passes, he is sure to put them away, but wasn’t given many this game.

Peter Odemwingie – N/A: Came on in the last ten minutes but didn’t have enough time to impress manager Mark Hughes.

Bojan opened the scoring for the Potters
