Melbourne City have come from behind to defeat Brisbane Roar 3-1 to temporarily move top of the A-League thanks to goals from Aaron Mooy, Anthony Caceres and Nick Fitzgerald.

Here are the players who performed well for their side:

Aaron Mooy – Melbourne City

Mooy grew more into the game as his side grabbed a strangle hold on the game after Brisbane dominated in the early stages of the first half. The Socceroos midfielder had his excellent passing display in a match which could have huge implications for the table come the end of the season. The 25-year-old got himself a goal from the penalty spot after some wonderful work from Bruno Fornaroli to earn his side the spot kick. Mooy produced a number of dangerous balls into the box throughout the night.

Corona – Brisbane Roar

The Spaniard was arguably his side’s best performer on the night as the Roar suffered their sixth straight loss to Melbourne City at AMMI Park. The veteran midfielder who leads the league with the most touches once again saw a lot of the ball controlling much of their play from defence into attacking moves. Arguably the Roar’s best signing at the start of the season alongside Jamie Maclaren, Corona continued to find space in the middle of the park to help get his side moving forward.

Bruno Fornaroli – Melbourne City

The A-League’s leading scorer was largely out of the game for most of the first half but came to life when his side needed him most. Although he did not find the back of the net on the night the Uruguayan found himself involved in the lead up play to much of the goals. Fornaroli earned his side a penalty with some brilliant footwork which saw him fouled by Jack Hingert, who was then sent off.  He was unlucky to see his free kick hit the cross bar which Nick Fitzgerald headed home the rebound.
