Federici succumbs to ankle trouble

The Australian goalkeeper, who has deputised for Artur Boruc at club level and internationally for Mathew Ryan, landed awkwardly after clearing a set piece early in the match, appearing to sprain his ankle.

The ex-Reading custodian battled manfully for the remainder of the half, however, making some important saves to keep his side within touching distance. The injury got the better of him as he was replaced at half time, but his brave effort later proved invaluable as his team mates fought to earn a draw.

Lukaku on the scoresheet again

The big striker continued his excellent run of form, taking advantage of a defensive lapse by Cook to score his 10th goal of the campaign.

That number means Lukaku has already levelled his personal tally from last season, and there looks to be no end in sight for a man high on confidence and making the most of a team employing tactics that play into his hands.
