The Cherries twice came from behind in stunning circumstances to secure a valuable point against Everton at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening.

Everton twice looked out of sight, first leading 2-0 heading into the final 10 minutes before Bournemouth rallied to score two goals in seven minutes. Ross Barkley then put the Toffees back in front in the 95th minute, before one last hurrah saw Junior Stanislas score his second of the game to earn the hosts a crucial point.

Ramiro Funes Mori opened the scoring on 25 minutes after some slack Cherries defending at a corner. Romelu Lukaku doubled the lead 10 minutes later after being played in by Gerard Deulofeu. The Belgian made the most of some lax defending by Steven Cook, who failed to remain goalside of the Belgian, lashing a vicious strike beyond the reach of wounded goalkeeper Adam Federici.

The Australian shot-stopper succumbed to the ankle injury he sustained at the half, replaced by 23-year-old Ryan Allsop.

The home side enjoyed the better of the second half for the most part and were eventually rewarded for their persistence in the 79th minute as Adam Smith launched an unstoppable strike from beyond the penalty area onto the post and in beyond the reach of Tim Howard.

Stanislas restored parity soon after, striking home after being found by a precise Joshua King ball from the right.

Just when the points looked set to be split, Barkly bobbed up in the area after a scrap to strike through the legs of Allsop and give Everton what everyone thought would be all three points.

Bournemouth went straight forward from the restart and picked Everton apart after a string of passes. Charlie Daniels delivered a tasty ball from the left-hand side that was met by Stanislas and powerfully headed home.

That is where the scoring ended, with Bournemouth finishing the day two points from safety while Everton remain in seventh. The Cherries face a challenging trip to Chelsea next up. The Blues, meanwhile, host Crystal Palace next Monday.
