Outside90’s Harley Stevens selects the best five goals from week four of the Premier League.

5 – Bafetimbi Gomis (Swansea 2-1 Manchester United)

Following Swansea’s double against Manchester United last season, the Welshmen set out this season trying to carry through their form against the Red Devils into the new campaign and continue Garry Monk’s 100% record against the Mancunians. After going 1-0 down shortly after half time thanks to a Juan Mata goal, Andre Ayew soon responded, heading in Swansea’s equaliser. He then turned creator, as his delicious outside-of-the-boot ball found in-form striker Bafetimbi Gomis, who slotted past Sergio Romero with serious fingers being pointed at United’s new goalkeeper. The goal was all due to the beautiful pass by Ayew that found Gomis, and the duo have certainly hit form during the first few games of the season.

4 – Dusan Tadic (Southampton 3-0 Norwich)

In a game which saw one of the six red cards of the Premier League weekend, it was Dusan Tadic who stole the show at St Mary’s on Sunday. After Norwich defender Steven Whittaker got his marching orders, the game swung in Southampton’s direction and there was soon no way back for the Premier League new boys. Graziano Pelle put the home side ahead before half time, but it was Tadic’s double that settled the game in the second half. As Sadio Mane broke into the box early in the second period, Tadic was there to pounce and stroke the ball into the top corner before netting another just minutes later

3 – Fernandinho (Manchester City 2-0 Watford)

Fernandinho’s second goal in three games came as Manchester City eased past newly promoted Watford. Shortly after Raheem Sterling opened his account for the Citizens, Yaya Toure’s free kick struck the Watford wall, resulting in the ball falling kindly for the Brazilian midfielder, who, after a tidy one-two with David Silva, fired into the far corner from the right-hand side of the box to double City’s advantage and continue their 100% record this season.

2 – Yann M’Vila (Aston Villa 2-2 Sunderland)

Yann M’Vila struck his first goal in Sunderland colours following his rather surprising loan move from Rubin Kazan this summer. When the Black Cats were awarded a free kick in the eighth minute at Villa Park, up stepped M’Vila, who curled the ball past the wall to give Dick Advocaat’s men the lead. His effort was cancelled out only minutes later by Scott Sinclair’s penalty and his team could not grab hold of the game and subsequently went on to draw 2-2, but M’Vila’s free kick came close to grabbing the number one accolade.

1 – Callum Wilson (Bournemouth 1-1 Leicester)

Taking the number spot this week is Callum Wilson, grabbing his fourth goal of the campaign already. The Bournemouth forward executed a delightful overhead kick to fire the Cherries into the lead, only to be denied their second win in successive weeks by a Jamie Vardy penalty late on. As a cross came in to new signing Max Gradel, his deflected header fell to Wilson, who acrobatically fired the ball into the top corner with his body facing away from goal. It was a superb goal and a decent point against a quality Leicester side, but in the grand scheme of things, Bournemouth will probably feel hard done by they did not come away with all three points.
