Socceroos boss Ange Postecoglou believes Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy still has more to give in the English game.

The central-midfielder has earned a plethora of praise from British media and fans alike after a glittering start to life on loan with the Terriers from Manchester City.

Just a fortnight ago, Mooy scored his first goal for Town, a long-range thunderbolt that secured another win for the table-toppers against West Yorkshire rivals Leeds United.

He has again found himself selected for Australia duty for October’s World Cup qualifiers against Saudi Arabia and Japan.

While Mooy’s form has come as little surprise, Postecoglou insists the 26-year-old still has more to give.

“He (Mooy) is going okay, but he was okay here (in the A-League) last year.

“I’m not surprised and I’ve said it all along, I don’t know why we should be.

“I think the only surprise is that he wasn’t picked up by a Premier League club, but that’s okay, I’m sure that will happen at some point.

“Maybe he’ll get Huddersfield up and they’ll sign him.

“But it (Mooy’s form) is no surprise to me.”

Elsewhere, Postecoglou has selected Jimmy Jeggo (Sturm Graz) for a first Socceroos call-up, while Craig Goodwin has been recalled for the second time.

Apo Giannou, Nathan Burns and Josh Risdon have all been left out.

Valencia goalkeeper Mat Ryan is selected despite fitness concerns and is expected to be ready for the trip to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
