Saturday night’s thrilling Sydney Derby concluded in a draw, marking seven consecutive meetings without a Wanderers win.

Here are the three players that crumpled under the pressure of the occasion.

Nikolai Topor-Stanley (Western Sydney Wanderers)

The subject of increased scrutiny following reports that he could be set for a big money move to China, Topor-Stanley will not have impressed his potential suitors following a lacklustre derby performance.
A terrible error in the 23rd nearly gifted an equaliser to Sydney FC captain Alex Brosque, and when the momentum shifted to the Sky Blues midway through the first half, he was a non-entity as Matt Simon tormented Liam Reddy.

Romeo Castelen (Western Sydney Wanderers)

Among the best players in the last Sydney Derby meeting, Castelen failed to impress on Saturday night, wasting a number of chances early in the match.

The Dutchman found some touch late in the first half, with a shot on target blocked by an unflinching Matt Jurman, but he ultimately wasn’t given a chance to redeem himself, substituted off for Jaushua Sotirio in the 61st minute.

Seb Ryall (Sydney FC)

Ryall is perhaps unlucky to be included, given his superb cross that led to Sydney FC’s equaliser, and any of Rhyan Grant, Scott Jamieson and Jacques Faty could be listed in his stead.

However, Ryall idly watched on as Mark Bridge sprinted past to assist Dario Vidosic’s opener, a mistake amplified by the Sky Blues’ dominance and inability to capitalise thereafter. A yellow card for a clumsy challenge on Jaushua Sotirio capped off a poor night.
