Perth Glory won their fifth A-League match in a row with a win over Brisbane Roar in a thrilling contest at NIB Stadium.

Perth continued the form that had secured them four straight wins prior to this match, taking the lead inside five minutes after Andy Keogh slotted home. However, that lead would only last 12 minutes as former Glory striker Jamie Maclaren equalised for the visitors despite appearing to be in an offside position.

Brisbane then took the lead in the 28th minute as Dimitri Petratos calmly scored a penalty after Aryn Williams clattered into Jamie Maclaren inside the box. The see-sawing first half continued though as Chris Harold equalised for the Glory just five minutes later, but Brisbane hit back once again as Jade North headed home from a corner to put his side back in front.

The goals would not stop though as Nebo Marinkovic then scored in the 39th minute to level the scores at three apiece, before Shane Lowry scored his first A-League goal to put the Glory ahead at half time.

The scoring frenzy continued into the second half, with Diego Castro taking just four minutes to find the back of the net after the restart. The crowd at NIB Stadium would then have to wait until the final minutes to see the net bulge once again, as substitute Richard Garcia piled the misery on John Aloisi’s side.

The result continues to improve Perth’s chances of making the finals, sitting just one point adrift of Melbourne Victory, Melbourne City and Sydney FC. Brisbane remain level with Western Sydney at the top on points, but fall to second on goal difference.
