Glen Moss – Goalkeeper – Wellington Phoenix

Yet another solid performance from the Phoenix custodian as his side grabbed a surprise 2-1 win against Melbourne City. Moss made a number of key saves to keep Wellington in front after they jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. The highlight of his performance was his superb one-on-one save against in-form striker Bruno Fornaroli.

Scott Neville – Right-back – Western Sydney Wanderers

The composure of Neville was key as the home side looked to play out from the back on various occasions in the 2-1 win on Friday night against Perth Glory. Neville was a real danger for the Wanderers going forward throughout the night and the 27-year-old never shirked the issue at the defensive end, making a number of important tackles.

Alex Grant – Centre-back – Perth Glory

Despite being on the losing side, Grant produced an excellent performance against the Wanderers. He managed to make a number of key tackles throughout the match as the hosts went in search of more goals. The 22-year-old positioned himself well in defence throughout the night, able to sniff out a number of chances created by Tony Popovic’s men.

Nigel Boogaard – Centre-back – Newcastle Jets

Boogaard was the stand out in a rugged defensive display from the Jets as they won the F3 Derby 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. The former Adelaide United player made a total of 10 clearances throughout the match to ensure his side would stay out of any danger. The 29-year-old was strong in the tackle, setting the tone for the rest of the back four.

Tarek Elrich – Left-back – Adelaide United

The Socceroo produced the type of performance he has become known for in recent years, as his side romped to a 3-0 win against the Brisbane Roar. Elrich displayed confidence as he looked to get forward at every occasion and in his own half the Adelaide fullback made a number of crucial interceptions as Brisbane looked to get back in the match.

Stefan Mauk – Central-midfield – Adelaide United

Mauk has really impressed since joining the Reds in January and it continued at the weekend. The hometown boy continued to link up well with his teammates throughout the match. The 20-year-old was resolute defensively, tracking back to help his side win the ball back and also found himself in a number of dangerous attacks.

Steven Ugarkovic – Central-midfield – Newcastle Jets

The man who ensured the Jets would take all three points produced a solid performance in the middle of the park for the away side. The midfielder capitalised well on a Josh Rose mistake to score the game’s sole goal. His passing was outstanding throughout the match, distributing at 94% accuracy.

Romeo Castelen – Central-midfield – Western Sydney Wanderers

Despite starting on the bench, Castelen was thrown into the game only 10 minutes in when Dario Vidosic went down with an injury. His talents were on full display with the Dutchmen showing he is not afraid to run with the ball at his feet. Castelen’s class shone through when he placed a long drive into the back of the net with a well taken finish to cap-off his performance.

Bruce Kamau – Right-wing – Adelaide United

Since being given a shot in the first team, Kamau has not looked back being and was preferred to a shaken-up Craig Goodwin at the weekend. In arguably a man of the match performance, the young winger terrorised the Roar defence when he got the ball at his feet as he looked to drive into the 18-yard box. Capped-off his performance with a well taken goal.

Kosta Barbarouses – Left-wing – Melbourne Victory

Probably the best player for his side on a night where the Victory will be disappointed to have not taken all three points against the 10 men of Sydney FC. The New Zealand international showed great skill and awareness as he opened the scoring in the first minute after the halftime interval.

Michael McGlinchey- Striker- Wellington Phoenix

Playing in various positions in recent weeks due to injuries and suspensions, the 29-year-old stood tall when his side needed him most. McGlinchey works hard for his side week in week out and the match against Melbourne City was no different as he produced a solid performance. His cross for Louis Fenton’s goal was inch perfect.
