French midfielder Yann M’Vila says he is heartbroken after a deadline day move to Sunderland collapsed.

“I called Sunderland but they are not picking up the phone. Why? My heart has broken”, the midfielder said on social media, before deleting the post.

The 26-year-old had hoped that his loan move last season would be made a permanent one, but will now have to return to club duties with Russian outfit Rubin Kazan, something that looks to have deeply upset the player.

Judging by the screenshot posted below, M’Vila had landed at Heathrow airport to finalise the deal with Sunderland and uploaded a photo with the caption ‘Hello London’.

Manager David Moyes also failed in his bid to finalise the transfer of Portuguese goalkeeper Mika Domingues from Boavista, despite both clubs appearing to be backing the move.

A social media statement from the Premier League outfit read: “Despite the best endeavours of both clubs, a deal has not been completed for the transfer of Mika Domingues from Boavista to Sunderland AFC.”
