The knocks on Mousa Dembele and Ryan Mason

Hopefully the small knock on Mousa Dembele will not cause any further problems, as he will be a big loss for the Lilywhites. Eric Lamela was seen warming up soon after Dembele received treatment, prompting a fear that he may have a problem, though luckily the Belgian played on and managed to shake-off the bang, so hopefully it was just precaution and Dembele can carry on controlling the midfield in the way he does so well.

Unfortunately for Tottenham though, Ryan Mason did not manage to carry on after a picking up an injury. A positive sight for the home fans saw Mason able to walk off after a stretcher was bought onto the pitch for the England international, but fans and Mauricio Pochettino will hope that it is not an injury that will keep him out for a long period of time.

Yellow cards for the home side

Towards the end of the first-half, Kane was shown a yellow card for a soft foul on Chelsea midfielder Willian, who was making a dash down the field. Kane was tracking back before Willian took a dramatic tumble after the striker had tried to dodge the Brazilian. The foul was soft and the card was even harsher, though from Michael Oliver’s point of view, Kane impeded a very good chance for Chelsea to advance towards the Tottenham goal. Jan Vertonghen also went in very heavy in a challenge on Hazard, and two of the back four, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose, also received a booking. While the game was not particularly violent, the card tally certainly built up for Spurs, who needed to be careful later on. In the second-half, the foul tally emulated that of a traditional London derby, but this broke the game up and made it scrappy.
