A case of Déjà vu

The last time Wolfsburg enjoyed the thrills and spills of Champions League football, they also faced CSKA and Manchester United along the way. Despite some promising performances that Wolves’ campaign ended when they finished third in their group, a disappointing result for what was their maiden berth in the competition. This time around they will be looking to manage at least one place better. With a great opportunity to go top of their group – and gain some great exposure – Wolfsburg will be looking to make the most of their chances in a couple of weeks time against the Red Devils. It’s difficult to say whether Wolfsburg have what it takes to then progress further into the later knockout stages of the competition, but, as for any developing side, the more experience they have playing in the Champions League, the better they will be for it.
