Real Madrid contenders as usual
Not a ground breaking lesson, but los Galacticos have once again proved that they will be the real deal in this season competition, without players like Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema they still managed to come away with a victory against a full strength PSG side. Scrappy as it may have been and maybe even undeserved, they still managed to grind out a result.

It puts to rest any thoughts about squad depth and ensures that Madrid will be as respected as ever. It is worth highlighting also the fact that in both PSG games Cristiano Ronaldo has largely been absent. Something perhaps other teams may look to emulate going into the later rounds.
