Group B proving the most exciting group
After two matches each, the teams in Group B (PSV, CSKA, Man Utd and Wolfsburg) are all sitting on three points and level goal difference. Whats more is that every match has been there for the taking, all four being decided by only one goal. With teams comfortable at home and losing on their away legs, this group is lining up for a very competitive finish. The next leg sees Wolfsburg and Dutch giants PSV face-off, in what will be no doubt a display of high attacking football and as both teams have had their problems at the back, this one could be entertaining for the neutral viewers at home.
Louis van Gaal’s men will be looking to continue their momentum as they take on the other winner this week in CSKA. If lessons are to be learned (borrowing from Manchester City’s experience against the Russian side) they will be looking to shut down the goal threats, in particular Seydou Doumbia, as he seems to enjoy scoring against Manchester sides.
The next matches will be of up-most importance for all four teams, as they look to establish themselves as top dogs in a group fighting over points.
