Simeone has a serious problem with his strikers
Another game where each striker that featured at some point of the match, continued to waste chances in scoring a goal. Torres was guilty of missing an excellent opportunity as was Griezmann and Martínez who later came on for the experienced Spaniard. Yet it was not only today this has occurred, with just days before another stalemate this time in La Liga against Deportivo de La Coruña which if not for Tiago’s long range effort, could of resulted in a loss rather than a draw.
With each striker seemingly undergoing a difficult period, the result is starting to impact on Atléti’s season now both in La Liga and Champions League, with Simeone’s side dropping valuable points. Simeone will have to address this problem and fast before Atléti get further and further away from the respective leaders.
