Juventus forward Paulo Dybala says his first goal of the Serie A season against Empoli was a big relief after a difficult start to the campaign .
Dybala’s first goal in the league was his second within a week, after he scored for the Serie A champions in the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb.
“I needed this goal in the league,” Dybala told Sky Italia.
“I needed time. After the goal in Zagreb, I broke through and will be fine from now on.
“I am always with [fellow scorer and compatriot Gonzalo] Higuain. We talk all the time – and not just about football – so it makes sense we get along on the pitch too.”
With yet another strong defensive performance, Juventus’ fourth clean sheet in a row, the Argentine was full of praise for his teammates in defence.
“I think it’s very important for us not to concede a goal, for the confidence, for the team,” he added.
Juventus sit four points clear at the top of Serie A, and Dybala will be hoping to replicate the strong form of last season which saw him finish with 19 league goals.
