Francesco Totti – 592 Serie A Matches**

(AS Roma)

A truly unique concoction of class and determination, passion and composure, pride and nobility. It is tough to argue that there has ever been a player whose adoration transcends beyond the confines of a football pitch to the extent of Francesco Totti.

His talents, while undoubtedly present, have flourished throughout his 23-year career as a result of his ability to tap into the passion and desire he has to bring pride to his city.

Captaining Roma since 1998, Totti truly made the hole between the midfield and attack very much his domain with his incredible composure, skill and awareness, garnering world-wide recognition with Pele stating, “Totti is the best player in the world. He has just been a little unlucky in the past.”

He is the Serie A’s second-highest goalscorer of all time, 31 behind Silvio Piola, despite never really playing as an out-and-out number nine, speaking volumes about his seemingly super-human ability to read the game.
