Juventus wall not coming down

It has been another record-breaking season so far for the Bianconeri, both individually and collectively with two more feats on the horizon. An impressive rise to the top of the table after lingering in the bottom half for much of the first 10 rounds has been perhaps the most impressive story of the season although this week two defensive records were broken.

Gianluigi Buffon kept another clean sheet after two crucial saves to surpass the legendary Dino Zoff to become second on the list of consecutive minutes not conceding – 926 the magic number. It leaves Buffon only three minutes shy of the all-time record held by Sebastiano Rossi and would take a miracle to not break this against Torino next Sunday.

The defensive unit also celebrated a record, not conceding a goal in 10 consecutive matches – a Serie A record. The Italian back four has only conceded 15 goals this season, eight of which slipped past Buffon in the opening seven matches of the season.

Palermo a disaster in their own backyard

The Sicilians have been embroiled in a tumultuous 2015-16 season. Not only do they find themselves winless in eight matches and only one point shy of the relegation places, but also very much a club in crisis off the park.

Unbelievably, Giuseppe Iachini has handed his resignation into the club for the second time this season and takes the tally of managers to seven for the same period of time. Smaller Italian clubs have a reputation in the top flight to switch managers just as quickly as a change of the preverbal undergarments. This all the while battling to stay in the top division next season.

To add to this, the Rosaneri have failed to win eight matches at home this season with only four wins and three draws – the most out of any other club in the league.
