Brighton

David Stockdale – 6: Good game with several great saves to keep Brighton in it.

Bruno Saltor – 5.5: Was all over Austin during set pieces but lost him during a crucial moment late on.

Gordon Greer – 5: Lucky not to be punished after losing his man a couple of times.

Lewis Dunk – 4.5: Was playing well, however two yellow cards saw him off after late challenge on Faurlin. Probably cost Brighton all three points.

Inigo Calderon – 6: Cleared off the line to deny Phillips yet struggled at times to contain the Scotsman. Good effort overall.

Rajiv van La Parra – 6.5: Showed his pace on the break during the first half. Had little right to shoot from 35 yards but was rewarded for his audacity.

Beram Kayal – 5: One of Brighton’s quieter players. Was left somewhat exposed by the Brighton formation as well.

Dale Stephens – 7: Was a machine in midfield giving his all for the team. Cheeky overhead kick gave Brighton the lead despite a questionable push on Sandro.

Jamie Murphy – 5: No lack of effort but was contained by Angella and Onouha on the right.

James Wilson – 5.5: Enthusiasm in bounds shown by the Manchester United loanee but was reduced to rather speculative efforts.

Tomer Hemed – 5: Seemed unsure of himself for much of the game and was substituted for Crofts.

Substitutes

Bobby Zamora – 4.5: Made a couple of loose touches late on, much to the enjoyment of the home fans.

Andrew Crofts – 4.5: Barely saw the ball in his brief term on the field.

Uwe Huenemeier – 5: Did little to halt the wave of pressure from Rangers after Dunk was sent off.
