Jan Oblak – 7: Not much for the Atléti shot-stopper to do, however, when called upon he showed exactly why the excellent Miguel Ángel Moyà cannot get a run out. Becoming a reliable and dependable figure between the posts.
Juanfran – 6: Typical performance by the Spaniard. Provided an outlet on the right in attack and combined well with Griezmann. Solid in defence
Diego Godín – 6.5: The ever-so dependable vice-captain gave another strong performance in the heart of defence. Did not give the Getafe strikers any room for chance.
Stefan Savić – 6.5: The new signing finally received his debut in front of the home side and looked good next to the experienced Godín.
Guilherme Siqueira – 5: The Brazilian was lucky not to receive a second yellow in the first half, which could have brought Getafe a way back into the game. Provided a more disciplined performance in the second-half.
Óliver Torres – 5: Nearly gifted Getafe a way back just before halftime with a terrible free-kick, apart from that was another solid appearance for the youngster.
Gabi – 6.5: Comfortable performance in the centre by the captain, distributing the ball intelligently throughout the game. It was his volley effort in the first-half led to the opening goal.
Saúl Ñíguez – 6: Not a spectacular performance, however, a more reliable and dependable role in the centre, which Simeone requires.
Yannick Ferreira Carrasco – 6: Very encouraging display by the new arrival, always willing to contribute both in attack and defence when needed.
Fernando Torres – 5.5: The experienced striker looked determined to continue his rich rein of form, however, struggled to get a chance to add to his tally. Taken-off shortly after the second-half began.
Antoine Griezmann – 8: The Frenchman has gone from strength-to-strength in this Atléti side. Two goals against Galatasaray last week, followed by the two against Getafe have now seen Griezmann score five goals in all competitions. The striker is truly cementing himself as one of the world’s best.
Substitutes
Ángel Correa – 6.5: Another brilliant performance by the youngster, provided a threat in the second-half and looked well among teammates. Looks to have a bright future.
Jackson Martínez – 6.5: A strong showing from the attacker. More alert of his fellow teammates’ positioning and provided the important assist for the goal to seal the game. Looks better alongside Griezmann.
Tiago – 6: Replaced Óliver to help provide experience in midfield as Getafe pushed for an equaliser.
