Geoffrey Kondogbia (Torino vs Inter Milan)

Recent weeks have been unkind to the Frenchman, only seeing out the majority of a match twice in the last eight weeks. However, it was very much his defensive ability that was on display for against Torino and it may force Roberto Mancini to rethink his starting position.

Not only was he key in front of a three man defense, the 22-year-old was left unmarked at the back post from a Mauro Icardi free-kick and was able to steer home the decisive goal.

Gervinho (Roma vs Lazio)

The Ivorian has become no stranger to our top five performers list and for good reason, as his form this season has been outstanding. With Edin Dzeko struggling, Gervinho has placed the goal scoring duties on his own shoulders, finding the net six times in the process.

His blistering pace was on show in the Derby della Capitale, making Lazio defenders look like traffic cones at times, it was one of these splitting runs which resulted in the sealer for Roma.

With Mohammed Salah now likely to be out of the side for an indefinite period of time, Gervinho may find himself needing to lead the front line in the near future.
