The gang had the pleasure of speaking to retired Matildas legend Melissa Barbieri on the Daily Football Show.
Currently back at the Melbourne Victory, Barbieri joined the boys in the studio as a special guest and had her say on matters all things football, including the A-League, the start of the W-League this weekend and the Matildas pay dispute.
Refreshingly honest and open, she gave the boys a brilliant insight in regards to the women’s game, comprehensively previewing the W-League and detailing the perspective of the Matildas’ girls boycotting the tour of the USA.
Barbieri also joined the conversation with Matt Windley from the Herald Sun and gave her honest assessment of week one of the A-League, including a special focus on a couple of hot and cold goalkeepers.
And in a special touch to round out her segment, Daily Football Show host and long-time friend Mark van Aken presented her with a rescued 2004 Athens Olympics guernsey. Take a bow, Mark.
