Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of Manchester United youngster Cameron Borthwick-Jackson on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old made his debut for the Red Devils first team last season under Louis van Gaal, drawing plaudits for his performances which earnt him a new contract at season’s end.

Borthwick-Jackson was unlikely to feature heavily under Jose Mourinho with first-choice full-back Luke Shaw returning from his horror injury sustained last season.

“My aim is to come here and play as many games as I can and get some good experience in the hope of going back to United and challenging for the team,” Borthwick-Jackson told Wolves Player HD.

“Jose Mourinho has told me I have got a future there so I am looking to gain experience and then go back.

“I have had interest from Premier League clubs and other Championship clubs but I really wanted to come here and try and help Wolves get back to where they belong in the Premier League.

“I also know Wolves have been interested in me for a while so I am coming here to try and contribute as much as I can.

The club also confirmed the loan signing of 24-year-old Benfica winger Ola John, who spent last season on loan at fellow Championship side Reading.
