Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat says Nick Ansell and Oliver Bozanic won’t take field in tomorrow’s game against Central Coast Mariners.

Bozanic came off with mild concussion in their AFC Asian Champions League game against Gamba Osaka, while Ansell is experiencing general soreness.

Kosta Barbarouses is suspended after the Match Review Panel gave him a two game ban, following a challenge on Milos Ninkovic in last week’s 1-1 draw against Sydney FC.

“We won’t be taking any risks with Ollie, he might travel across. We won’t be taking any risks with Nick either,” Muscat said.

“The traveling shouldn’t have any effect, apart from those outs we’ve recovered very well.”

The Victory boss is not looking for excuses and is looking forward to the challenge of keeping their top two hopes alive.

Moreover, he believes that Victory’s league position of fifth does not resemble the level of their performances throughout the campaign.

“From our perspective we’ve had some good performances in the A-League and haven’t taken what we thought we deserved,” he said.

“Yes, we have got to translate our performances into results, therefore our performances have got to be better.”

“We played some good teams in the ACL, we’ve battled and fought really hard and we have to take that momentum into tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow is a massive game for us. Much bigger than the one on Wednesday night in Gamba.”

“The players have recovered really well and put a lot of effort into recovery, we will go across to Gosford wanting to record all three points.”
