Premiership hopefuls Adelaide and the Wanderers are set for a monumental collision as A-League crunch time fast approaches.

A domestic unbeaten streak for the Reds which stretched back to the start of December was snapped by Melbourne City, while a slim win at the Hunter saw Western Sydney climb back to level points with league leaders Brisbane last weekend.

All are factors that make for a blockbuster affair on Saturday night, but Scott Jamieson says the Wanderers have not been over-enamored with Adelaide’s 2015-16 turnaround.

“We know what Adelaide have done so far this season, they’ve been very impressive,” said the Western Sydney utility to the media earlier today.

“But we need to focus on ourselves more so and just worry about what we can control.

“That is Monday to Friday working hard and fixing what we feel we can do better and then on the Saturday trying to replicate that.”

However, the 27-year-old spoke of goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic as a particular lynchpin for this weekend’s visiting side and a possible key to victory over Reds

“They started the season pretty poor and they somehow turned it around, defensively they are very good now.

“I think a lot of that comes down to their goalkeeper, who for me is so influential in their team, so if we can rattle him we will go a long way,” said Jamieson.

“With four games to go now, points are the most important thing.”

The Wanderers host Adelaide at Pirtek stadium on Saturday night, with kick-off set for 7:40 AEST.
