Brisbane Roar right-back Jack Hingert believes coaching duo John and Ross Aloisi are responsible for turning around the Queensland club’s fortunes this season.

Aloisi’s appointment by the Roar was met with some scrutiny following the former Socceroo’s ill-fated stint at Melbourne Heart which yielded little to no success.

Upon his arrival, John hired his brother Ross to join him as assistant coach, and Brisbane’s season has been hugely successful thus far with both at the helm.

The Roar currently sit second on the table on goal difference, level on points with Western Sydney Wanderers. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Football Show, Hingert suggested both men have been “brilliant” in their roles.

“They (John and Ross) have both been brilliant,” Hingert said.

“Obviously last season was a bit of a struggle for us and then John came in, a few people weren’t to sure about it (the appointment) with his past with Melbourne Heart, but we didn’t worry about that.

“We could see from the moment that he came in… just the training sessions, the way that he speaks to the boys and the things that he wanted and the things he wanted us to do moving forward… we could just tell that he was going to do well and be great for us this season.

“It has been so far and for me personally as well.

“Around the club and at training now, you can walk around the club, watch us train and you’ll see the difference in attitude from last season to this season.

“The intensity at training, it’s always up there. The way John and Ross speak to us and the things they want us to improve on, there’s not a moment where anyone can slack off. It’s been a massive difference compared to last season.”
