John Aloisi’s men recorded a resounding 4-0 win over a 10-man Central Coast Mariners earlier this afternoon.
The home side immediately took the initiative and were able to force a way through the Mariners’ backline when a lapse in concentration left Jade North with a simple header on the end of a Corona delivery in the 20th minute.
Central Coast were unable to generate much threat on the counter, with the influential Mitch Austin ruled-out during the warm ups and fell further behind after a rocketing close-range finish from Jamie Maclaren.
Superstar signing Luis Garcia was introduced immediately after the break, but much of the wind had already been taken out of the Mariners’ sails and things only got worse for the visitors. Corona put his own name on the scoresheet just before the hour-mark, before Henrique put things truly beyond doubt from the penalty spot soon after.
