Portugal produced a professional display against a lacklustre Wales to claim a 2-0 win and a place in the Euro 2016 final.
The first half was a dire affair with neither side threatening and creating any clear-cut goalscoring opportunities.
After the interval the game sparked into life, as Portugal came out on the front foot and were duly rewarded inside five minutes of the re-start.
Portugal worked a short corner to great effect, with Cristiano Ronaldo rising high above James Chester to plant a powerfully header into the back of the net from close range.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
Three minutes later and Portugal doubled their advantage when Nani latched onto Ronaldo’s speculative shot and it squirmed past a despairing Wayne Hennessey who was caught off balance.
Aside from some powerful long-range efforts from Gareth Bale, Wales failed to muster a route to goal as Portugal saw the game out with ease to earn a place in the final against either Germany or France.
Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter:
#POR‘s extra bit of quality from Ronaldo & Nani proved the difference. Incredible #EURO2016 campaign from Wales to reach the final four.

There’s something fundamentally wrong with a tournament format if a team reaches a final after winning 1 game over 90mins #PORWAL

Ronaldo really on his game today. Sharp, vocal with his teammates, got the crucial goal. Very good performance overall. #PORWAL

#POR – great country. Great people. Horrible, horrible football team.

Plenty of quality in this #WAL side tonight, just a shame Bale has 80% of it. They’ve missed Ramsey something chronic #PORWAL

Well done #WAL. Their performances have been one of the tournament highlights… Class on and off the pitch. Now to make World Cup 2018.
