Chris Harold and Diego Castro scored a brace each as Perth Glory demolished a sorry Newcastle Jets 6-1 at Hunter Stadium on Sunday evening.
The home side opened the scoring through a Milos Trifunovic header from a corner inside 15 minutes, only for Harold to score a header of his own from a well weighted Josh Risdon cross.
Castro then weaved some magic when he bamboozled his defender and plundered a fierce shot past Mark Birighitti minutes before the end of the first half.
The Jets played the entire second half with 10 men after skipper Nigel Boogaard carelessly collected a second yellow card on the stroke of half time.

Any hopes the Jets had of hanging in the game were extinguished when Daniel Mullen horribly cleared the ball into his own net on 48 minutes.
A flurry of goals from Harold, Alex Grant and a clever finish from Castro provided the icing on the cake for the Glory, while it compounded Jets’ woes on a day to forget.

Difficult to play a whole half with 10 men, low work rate and heads were down. Put it behind them and move forward. #newvper #aleague
